A piezo driver is a driver for driving a piezo actuator. Since a piezoelectric element displaces in high-speed response to minute changes in the applied voltage, the performance of the piezo driver is important for properly driving a piezo actuator.

　The piezoelectric element mounted on a piezo actuator has the property of storing electric charge like a capacitor. Therefore, a piezo driver is required to not only supply power but also absorb it. The relationship between voltage and current is shown in the figure below. The phase of the voltage and current is shifted by 1/4 of a wavelength.

　When selecting a piezo driver, it is necessary to consider the drive voltage range, capacitance, maximum peak current, and drive frequency (response speed) of the piezo actuator to be driven.
